Church Evacuation

Hello Church,
This morning we found ourselves evacuating the Worship Center at the end of our 9:00am service. Our neighbor apartment building on the corner of Valencia and Mary caught on fire when a gas main blew on their property. Three cars went up in the fire along with the carport and part of the apartment building. In addition, a live power line came down when the flames reached it.
At least four fire stations responded along with police, and both Mary and Valencia streets were closed until mid afternoon. Because our 10:45am service was cancelled, we invite you to view the 9:00am Livestream service on our website and YouTube channel. Our guest speaker Jim Jessup gave a compelling message on Legacy. Don't miss it!
So how does Crosswalk Church & Sunnyvale Christian School plan to demonstrate the love of Jesus this week?
First, we are taking gift baskets to four fire stations on Tuesday filled with bagels, cream cheese, and bags of coffee! Our campus is thankful for Sunnyvale firefighters and their dedication to defend our neighborhood from what could have been something far worse.
Second, we know that six families were displaced from their apartments and we will reach out to help them as neighbors. While we know the Red Cross was called to assist, we will donate Target cards to help with immediate needs and food for each family. You are welcome to donate online designating your gift as FIRE.
Thank you everyone for your quick response on campus this morning. The school is cleared to open tomorrow, and I will send more updates later this week.
