At Crosswalk Community Church, we value membership. Therefore, we require that every person who wants to become a member of Crosswalk Community Church attend the Connection Class. This class is offered five times a year and is normally taught by our Senior Pastor, John Christie. This class facilitates people who are interested in membership or who just want to know more about our church to learn more about who we are and what we believe. We want all members of our church family to be committed to the mission and purpose of why we exist and to actively commit to participating in the life of our church body.
We do not believe in inactive membership and that is why we require every member to sign a membership covenant and every member is asked to review their covenant and verbally recommit to it each year. We generally do this through a covenant renewal service at the beginning of each year.
In order to become a member of Crosswalk Community Church, we ask that each person share their testimony of when and how they first accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. As well, every member must either share their baptism experience or be baptized prior to joining the church.
Although we highly value membership in our community, we do not discriminate against those who are not ready to make this next step in their spiritual journey at Crosswalk for whatever reason. All of our pastoral services and congregational ministries are equally available to the people of Crosswalk Community Church, regardless of whether they are a member or regular attendee. The only limitation is that non-members cannot vote on the business items of the church. We value people above membership and so we invite you regardless of whether you are ready to make this commitment to come and be a part of our family!
God loves you and we want to help you experience and feel the love of Jesus Christ.
